Talk about game changing! Albertsons Joins Food Trust Network To Track Romaine Lettuce From Farm To Store via

h/t cc:

My movie snob friends make fun of me for loving "capeshit," but idgaf... every one of the Avengers trailers get me, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

The barista at this Starbucks is whistling the tune to "Suicide is Painless."

I’m eager to hear the bittrex side. But a few things stand out.

1) Polo likely would have had similar issues if not for the Circle takeover.

2) If not for polo, bittrex, and kraken all nonBTC exchange activity would have been overseas.

3) XRP II has a bitlicense.

Maxine Waters appears to not know that the government nationalized students loans 10 years ago despite chairing a committee that regulates the banks...?

Crypto startups are filled with awful sales people.

I can't tell you how many times I've been approached by sales folks, only to have them drop the ball when I have money in my fist, begging them to take it.

“Did China really ban bitcoin mining???” 😱

I’ve received multiple versions of this question from people today, so I dug into this a bit more for a coherent answer. Posting in a tweet thread so everyone can see my response.

Trust is easy to break and hard to rebuild.

Startups? You've broken my trust. We're going to need to take it slow.

It's not me, it's you.

I'm involved in a very few projects thus far in 2019 as a result of this realization.

In terms of new clients, advisor positions, and paid employment, I'll continue this new level of scrutiny and selectivity moving forward.

I don't have any sage advice or grand pronouncements. This is more of a journal entry, I suppose. If you see me with a lack of enthusiasm for some new project you want me to get involved with, it's because I'm very wary of being burned. My time is my most precious commodity.

There's no rubric you can use to weed these scam artists out. They've been veterans and newbies, venture backed and bootstrapped, Ivy-league college educated and self-taught.

The one thing they have in common is that they're involved in startups.

It seems like everyone who runs in the startup scene has a story (every year!) about someone major crimes defrauding them in different ways. It's not just me, and and it's not just the Dallas scene (or just the Silicon Valley scene). It's endemic.

I'm a fan of the "fake it to you make it" school of thought. So much of what's profitable in this world can be self-taught.

That said, since getting down and dirty in the startup scene the last few years (opposed to covering it as a journalist), I'm shocked by actual fakes.
